St. Edward Hospital is a non-profit healthcare organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable healthcare services to the Ahafo Ano South East district and surrounding areas.

The hospital strictly adheres to approved human resource policies from the Diocesan Health Service of Goaso, as governed by the National Catholic Health Service (NCHS) and the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG).

The hospital initially began with a small team of five staff members, including two ward assistants, one community health nurse seconded from Mankranso Hospital, one labourer, and one night watchman. Over time, the hospital has grown significantly and currently employs 156 staff members. This includes three medical doctors, one doctor of Optometry, 26 midwives, three mental health nurses, two nutrition officers, 92 nurses of various cadres, two anaesthetists, and a visiting obstetrician/gynaecologist.

The hospital is managed by an administrative team consisting of an Administrator, Medical Director, Nurse Manager, Chaplain, and Accountant. Rev. Sr. Mary Laetitia Ofoma served as the first Administrator until her retirement in 2019. From October 2019 to January 2021, Dr Gifty Amugi acted as both the Medical Director and Administrator. Since September 2021, Mr Obed Anarfi Addo has been the hospital's substantive Administrator.

St. Edward Hospital offers a wide range of healthcare services, including outpatient and emergency care, child health services, basic eye care, obstetrics and gynaecology, general surgery, nutrition and counselling, diagnostic services such as scans, ECG, and laboratory tests, mental health services, and specialized clinics for hypertension and diabetes, sickle cell and asthma, as well as HIV and TB.
